Hopewell Emergency Crew is the primary EMS agency within the city of Hopewell, VA.  We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to become part of our volunteer organization.  The rewards are endless but the fulfillment of helping others in their time of need is priceless.  You may even be hailed a hero!   Hopewell EMS offers several options for those who are interested in membership.  Whether you want to be on the front lines of service or quietly serve in the background, giving back to your community is as easy as 1-2-3.
 
Riding Members:  Riding members are those who staff ambulances and respond to calls for service.  Individuals within this category are part of either the Junior or Senior crews and are required to become certified in the field of Emergency Medical Services.  Riding members make a monthly commitment to the crew and are often involved in crew activities outside of their commitment.  Candidates should meet the following guidelines.
 
 
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older
  • If under 18 years of age, must have parents (or legal guardians) permission
  • Must have acceptable criminal background
  • Must have acceptable drivers transcript (if applicable)
  • Must have a desire to serve and be of good character
Support Members:  Support members are those who would like to serve but have no desire to staff ambulances and/or become certified in the field of Emergency Medical Services.  Support members perform duties that help with the daily administrative tasks of operation of the organization.  Some of those task include, but are not limited too, clerical duties,  light maintenance and repair, scene rehabilitation, fundraisers and event organization and execution, and more.  Candidates should meet the following guidelines.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have acceptable criminal background
  • Must have acceptable drivers transcript (if applicable)
  • Must have a desire to serve and be of good character

The next section below ask you to indicate all certifications you currently hold in EMS. If you are not certified, please check the "Not Currently Certified In EMS" box below. Be advised that you do not have to be certified in EMS to become a member of this organization. Hopewell Emergency Crew will assist in the certification of members interested in being a Prehospital Provider.








NOTICE: Submission of this form is an inquiry in which you are expressing interest in membership with the Hopewell Emergency Crew. This is not an application for membership. You will be asked to complete an application in full once in order to comply with agency membership standards and regulations set by the Virginia Office of EMS.
